Position: Assistant Store Leader
As a Store Leader, you will be responsible for the overall operations of the store. Below is an overview of your position and responsibilities. Please keep in mind that there will be other tasks and expectations set by Senior Leadership.
Ownership/Leadership
- Leads and creates a positive team environment while fulfilling all guest requests
- Provides all team members with consistent Servant Leadership that creates and cultivates happiness for each and every team member
- Provides an example of excellence through fun, professional behavior
- Provides an environment that drives growth and development and that empowers our team to never be standing still and always growing
- Values results with the team and holds the highest standards in everything we do
- Provides the highest level of communication to all company team members in a respectful and positive manner
Financial Accountability
- Leads and is responsible for all sales driving initiatives within the store and achieves sales targets set forth by Senior Leadership
- Responsible for all labor results within departments with direction given by Senior Leadership
- Works with the buyers to ensure that there is a balance between driving sales and achieving margin through reducing shrink
Human Resources
- Leads much of the employee life cycle for store teams, including but not limited to:
- Hiring, staffing, interviewing, training, and scheduling
- Annual Reviews
- Annual Check-ins
- Disciplinary action including separation
- New Hire Orientations
- Interviews and participates in the hiring decisions for incoming Department Leaders
Marketing/Merchandising/Signage
- Stays current with all signage to drive sales and ensure guest satisfaction
- Ensures that all favorite, price comparison, and other initiative signs are represented
- Implements marketing and merchandising efforts every day
- Ensures that we are always below our 1% OOS goal and that we are always in stock on our top movers
- Effectively changes out displays on a seasonal basis and ensures the stores are consistently well merchandised and looking great
Cleanliness/Quality Assurance
- Ensures the cleanest and safest store for the team
- Reports and corrects any defects in a timely manner
- Upholds food safety standards and cleanliness standards to company standards
- ServSafe Certified and TIPS Certified (when working in Olney location)
Communication with all Buyers
- Regularly communicates with Buyers to pass along information regarding guest requests, display needs and Department Leader and Specialist job performance
